Engineering research project may allow future consumers to ‘buy and sell’ electricity

With falDSC_2094ling prices and increased awareness in creating a sustainable future, higher numbers of consumers are choosing to install roof-top solar generation. To make effective use of this trend, utilities companies are contemplating real-time pricing of electricity, which is expected to usher in a new generation of active consumers engaged in buying and selling electricity.

Graduate Students Win Scholarships

Scholarships were on the line as 140 graduate students presented their research and scholarly work in the annual graduate student research fo049rum, K-State Graduate Research, Arts and Discovery, or GRAD Forum, formally known as K-State Research Forum, March 30 in the Engineering Complex.

Winners received scholarships of $500 for first place, $250 for second place and $125 for third place.

Graduate Student Appreciation Week

s16 Every year K-state celebrates our graduate students with a week of events.  This year the college of engineering schedule photos of research groups, had an Awards ceremony, provided snacks and gifts during an open house with Associate Dean Noel Schultz, offered fun photos of groups of students through a photo booth, and had an ice cream social.

The students featured are Nazif Faqiry (PhD Student) and Rahul Devrapaully (Masters Student).
