Tips for instructors submitting final grades in iSIS

Here are some helpful tips and reminders for submitting final grades in iSIS:

  1. Don’t wait until final grades are due to sign in to iSIS for the first time. Sign in now and become familiar with it before getting pressed for time.
  2. Grade rosters will be available in iSIS for grade entry on Dec. 13.
  3. Click the Save button periodically if you are entering grades for a large course section.
  4. After grades are entered into iSIS, they MUST be marked as “Approved” before they will be posted to students’ academic records.
  5. If grades are copied from K-State Online to iSIS, they MUST be marked as “Approved” in iSIS before they will be posted to students’ academic records.
  6. A grade must be assigned to all students in order to approve grades. Otherwise, grades will remain in Review status.
  7. Don’t wait until the last minute to begin the grade submission process.  The time on your computer and the iSIS server may not be the same. We recommend starting no later than noon Tuesday, Dec. 23, in order to avoid sign-in problems and to make sure class/grading options are set up correctly.
  8. For Dec. 15-17 final exams, grades are due 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22.
  9. For Dec. 18-19 final exams, grades are due 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23.
  10. The deadline to copy grades from K-State Online to iSIS is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, in order to allow time for backend processes to run.
  11. At 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, a grade of “NR” (Not Reported) will automatically be inserted in all grade rosters for each student who does not have a final grade reported.
  12. If the grade-reporting deadline is missed, the instructor must submit to the Registrar’s Office an individual paper Grade Change Form for each student whose grade was not reported.
  13. Students can view their final grades in iSIS on Wednesday, Dec. 24.
