Graduate students: Nov. 22 deadline for submitting theses, dissertations, and reports

Friday, Nov. 22, at 5 p.m. is the deadline for graduate students to submit their electronic theses, dissertations, or reports (ETDRs) to the K-State Research Exchange if they plan to graduate this semester.  See the Graduate School’s Graduation Deadlines (PDF) for details.

Graduate students can get help formatting their Word and LaTeX documents to meet Graduate School requirements by contacting the IT Help Desk (helpdesk@k-state.edu, 785-532-7722, toll-free 800-865-6143) to schedule an appointment with ETDR consultants Betsy Edwards and Marty Courtois.

Visit the ETDR website to access many Word resources and step-by-step solutions.  Select the category “Using Word to write your ETDR” and then select the Word version you’re using.  The site includes Word 2003 for Windows through Word 2013; and Word 2004 for Macs through Word 2011.

For each version of Word on the site, the topics cover how to:

  • Troubleshoot a variety of common Word issues such as wrong page numbering; copy/pasting content; adding figure/table captions; and working with automated lists like the Table of Contents and List of Figures
  • Use, create, and modify Word styles
  • Make PDF conversions
  • Get tips and shortcuts for working with Word
