Students: How to access your courses in K-State Online

by Information Technology Services

During the fall semester, a university upgrade continues to the K-State Online learning management system. K-State Online is a collection of tools that students and instructors use to share course material, watch course videos, do group work, communicate, check grades, take online tests, and submit online homework.

Students may have courses in two systems: K-State Online Classic and K-State Online Canvas. You can easily find your courses during the upgrade by staying “connected” with the Connect dashboard.

Use the Connect dashboard to access both K-State Online systems

  1. Go to the K-State homepage at k-state.edu and click the purple Sign in button in the upper right-hand side.

    K-State Connect sign in link
  2. Type your K-State eID and password.
  3. Locate the K-State Online widget.
  4. Click the course you want to access.

For additional help, follow the detailed step-by-step instructions to access the K-State Online widget in Connect.

Use the mobile app for K-State Online Canvas courses

One of the great benefits of Canvas is the free Canvas by Instructure mobile app. The app shares many of the same features of the web version of Canvas, which includes:

  • Managing your Inbox/conversations, profile, to-do list and notifications
  • Viewing files, modules, pages, syllabus, announcements
  • Participating in discussions and groups
  • Calculating “what-if” grades

The mobile app is available for iOS and for Android devices.
