New K-State Attendance app available in K-State Online

k-state-onlineby Information Technology Services

K-State Online Canvas comes with Roll Call, an attendance application that instructors use to take class attendance. However, many instructors found the app too complicated. In response, K-State has developed an alternative attendance app.

The K-State Attendance app is simple to use; allows instructors to take notes and attendance; and provides an attendance summary that can be printed or exported. The K-State Attendance app is available for all instructors to use during the spring 2017 semester. Instructors have the option to use the new app or continue using the Canvas Attendance app already turned on by default.

Instructors who would like to use the new K-State Attendance app can do so now by enabling the app in their courses. For step-by-step instructions on how to add the app, see the article Adding the K-State Attendance App in the K-State Knowledge Base.

Once the app is enabled, instructors can begin to take attendance. For detailed instructions on how to use the app, see the article Assign attendance with the K-State Attendance app in the K-State Knowledge Base.

Instructors who want to continue using the built-in Canvas Attendance app do not need to make any changes.
