FIS and eForms scheduled downtime, Nov. 15-17

As part of K-State’s ongoing effort to modernize our IT infrastructure and implement a cloud-first strategy, many of K-State’s systems are moving to the cloud. The Financial Information System (FIS) and eForms will be moving to the cloud and will be unavailable beginning 6 p.m., Fri., Nov. 15, and will be back online the evening of Sun., Nov. 17.

FIS and eForms are used by the Division of Financial Services and units to process University transactions, handle grant-related functions, and to track the University’s funds.

To prepare for the move, FIS users need to:

  • Switch to Java 8
  • Enable Internet Explorer settings
  • Configure URLs

Note: eForms and DFS Decisions (including GTA Tuition Waivers, SFA Scholarship Confirmation, etc.) will be offline.

For a detailed list of what you need to prepare for the cloud-based system, view the Additional Information for FIS and eForm Users knowledge base article.

Once the move is complete, there will be a slight difference in functionality between the new cloud version of FIS and the current on-premise version of FIS. To learn more about these changes, view the Additional Information for FIS and eForm Users knowledge base article.

If you experience any issues after the downtime, call the IT Help Desk at 785-532-7722 or email  helpdesk@k-state.edu. To learn more about K-State’s move to a cloud-first strategy, view the  IT Strategic Plan.
