Nick Austin accepts position as Senior Director of Data Operations

Information Technology Services is pleased to announce that Nick Austin has accepted the position as Senior Director of Data Operations. Austin will provide strategic and operational direction for data operations and content services applications,  reporting to Jan Elsasser, Deputy CIO for Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Enterprise Applications.

Austin has been with K-State for 20 years, serving in positions of increasing responsibilities. His most recent role has been leading the support team for the Constituent Relationship Management systems (CRM), including the procurement and implementation of Salesforce. Specifically, he will provide oversight for the teams who support WebMethods, Decisions, ImageNow, Sharefile/RightSignature, and he will continue to support the Salesforce integrations currently using Informatica. He is pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Analytics at K-State and completed his undergraduate degree in business administration here as well. Austin begins this position on May 4.

According to Jan Elsasser, Deputy CIO, “Nick brings more than 20 years of technical and leadership experience into his new role. He will be instrumental in moving data operations forward”. Please join Information Technology Services in congratulating Nick Austin in his new role.

Darci Pottroff named Director of Application Services

Darci Pottroff was named Director of Application Services for Information Technology Services on March 23. Throughout her 29 years at K-State, Pottroff has held various roles, some of which include serving on the team that migrated the ERP systems to cloud services. She is an expert on K-State’s human resource management system, HRIS.

Pottroff has 15 years of management experience with K-State, providing a wealth of knowledge about the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems that she will now oversee. In her most recent role as IT Administrator/ Coordinator for the Information Systems Office, Pottroff demonstrated her ability to work with leaders across the university and the state. Duo, new IT security layer, has Jan. 29 enrollment deadline for faculty/staff Group 1

As President Myers announced last week, K-State is using a second layer of security called Duo for the university’s online applications and systems, in addition to eID/password sign-in.

K-State password + Duo (second-layer security) = Access

To facilitate implementation, faculty/staff have been assigned to Duo enrollment groups. Members of Group 1 will receive their enrollment email on Tuesday, Jan. 15, with an enrollment deadline Tuesday, Jan. 29.

Retirement reception for Diana Blake rescheduled for Jan. 19

Information Technology Services (ITS) will host a retirement reception for Diana Blake, Associate Director of Information Systems from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, in the Cottonwood Room at the K-State Student Union. The reception was originally scheduled for Jan. 11, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.

The university community is invited to join ITS to honor Blake for over 17 years of service to Kansas State University.
