Dec. 11 demo: Panasonic projector with new Digital Link technology

Senna Technology Systems, a Panasonic and local technology dealer, and a representative from Panasonic will be showing IT and system administrators a new Panasonic projector featuring the new Digital Link technology. The presentation is scheduled 1:30 – 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11,  in Hale 401. All system admins and IT staff are invited to attend, but all faculty/staff are welcome.

Panasonic will also have a 65-inch interactive display with them as well that can be used for digital signage or as an interactive classroom display.

Demo model of Dell’s new 9010 All-in-One desktop computer in iTAC

The Information Technology Assistance Center received a demo unit of Dell’s new 9010 All-in-One desktop computer — with a sleek, great form factor. Stop by iTAC, Hale 214, just outside the IT Help Desk and take a test drive. It will be available until the end of October.

Windows 8 Demo Day Wednesday September 19, 2012

Microsoft will be on campus Wednesday September 19th in the Union Big 12 room to demo the Windows 8 operating system. Major changes in Windows 8 include a completely new user interface and other enhancements aimed at tablet computing and desktops alike.

Microsoft will be providing three demo sessions geared for different interest areas. Here is the planned agenda for the day.

  • 9:30am – 10:30am will be a general look at the new user interface. This session is perfect for those that are interested in how Windows 8 will look and act as well some of the new features.
  • 11:00am – 12:00pm will be a technical session covering the inner workings of the operating system as well as support and management enhancements.
  • 12:15pm – 1:00pm will be a brown bag question and answer session for diving deeper into the inner workings of Windows 8.

All of the sessions will be held in the Union Big 12 room and anyone interested in one or all of the sessions is welcome to join.

New Epson PowerLite projector demo Nov. 9

Epson will demonstrate their new PowerLite G5650W model projector at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, in Room 401 of Hale Library. The specifications of this projector include:

  • 3LCD display technology
  • 4500 ANSI lumens
  • 1280 x 800 native resolution
  • 16:10 native aspect ratio
  • 2000:1 contrast ratio
  • HDMI ready

Epson will provide additional details on the expansion of their high-end products. This presentation is open to all faculty/staff.

Digital signage demo Wednesday, June 30

A live, digital signage demonstration by Janus Displays will be 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, in Hale 401. All interested individuals are welcome.

“Recording classroom lectures” system demo

The Information Technology Assistance Center and the Office of Mediated Education are hosting a drop-in demonstration of a system for recording classroom lectures.  The system can upload presentations to a USB drive or external hard drive in a fraction of the time of previous systems. Faculty and staff are encouraged to try out the system during regular business hours from noon Monday, Nov. 17-noon Wednesday, Nov. 19, in Hale 212. Cytek Media Systems of Topeka designed and loaned the system to K-State for these demonstrations. For more information, contact Kevin Shippy, 785-532-3343, or Tim Bagby, 785-532-4919.
