Free classes on Dreamweaver, iMovie, Photoshop, Premiere, ProTools, Vegas Pro

Faculty/staff and students are invited to participate in these hands-on classes that are offered each semester by the Media Development Center. Enrollment is not needed; just stop by 213 Hale Library at the times and dates below.  Most sessions are offered on two dates for the convenience of the K-State community. Register now for free, online Web Design training

Registration is now open for the free, online Web Design training class being offered by the Information Technology Assistance Center this spring. The 12-week class begins Monday, Jan. 24, and is designed to introduce K-Staters to the fundamental concepts, terminology, and best practices of web design. The class requires pre-registration.

The class will be conducted online via K-State Online and will cover:

  • HTML markup for structuring webpages
  • Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for presentation in webpages
  • Adobe Dreamweaver Creative Suite 5

Free multimedia mini-classes: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, ProTools, iMovie

The following free, one-hour classes are scheduled this fall in the Media Development Center (MDC) in 213 Hale Library. Classes are open to all K-Staters, and no registration is needed. Most topics are offered on two dates to afford K-Staters more opportunities to attend.

Intro to Photoshop — 6-7 p.m. — Oct. 24 (Sun), Nov. 14 (Sun)
This class will help patrons understand the basics of Adobe Photoshop.

Introduction to iMovie — 6:30-7:30 p.m. — Oct. 25 (Mon), Nov. 29 (Mon)
This class will teach the basics of video editing using iMovie HD.

Free, online course on Web Design Fundamentals at K-State

The Information Technology Assistance Center is offering a free, online course on “Web Design Fundamentals at K-State.” This ten-week course begins Tuesday, Oct. 5, and is designed to introduce K-Staters to the fundamental concepts, terminology, and best practices of web design. The course requires pre-registration.

iTAC’s IT training calendar is now online. All classes are free for K-State faculty, staff, and graduate students, but require pre-registration. Details are on the specific registration pages. Courses include:

  • Introduction to HTML
  • Introduction to Dreamweaver
  • Introduction to Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
  • Working with CSS in Dreamweaver

April IT training calendar now online

iTAC’s April IT training calendar is now online. All classes are free for K-State faculty, staff, and graduate students, but require pre-registration. Details are on the specific registration pages. Courses include:

Don’t forget to change your password in Dreamweaver too!

After you change your eID password, if you use Dreamweaver’s FTP function, don’t forget to change your password in Dreamweaver, too. To change your password in Dreamweaver, do the following:

  1. On the Site menu, click Manage Sites.
  2. Highlight the site you want to change your password for and then click Edit.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Under Category (on the left), click Remote Info.
  5. In the Password box, type your new password.
  6. Click OK and then click Done.
