February 2017 iPad User Group meeting Thursday, Feb. 9 noon- 1 p.m.
106 Bluemont Hall
“Advanced Text Editing on the iPad: Microsoft Word vs. Apple Pages” is this month’s topic. We will do a comparison of the free Microsoft Word and Apple Pages apps. Some people prefer Word and its integration with K-State’s Office 365 suite, and others like Pages because of its integration with iCloud across their Apple devices. Which do you prefer? Come and help us compare the pros and cons of each app.
Among other things, we’ll look at:
Features and user interface
Creating and editing documents
Saving and storage of documents
Sharing and collaboration
Importing and exporting documents between the two apps
This month, we will be showing tips for troubleshooting frequent iPad problems, and also take a look at two apps for creating mind-maps (visual diagrams): iThoughts and Inspiration Maps. Please come and share any mind-map apps that you might be using.
March 2016 iPad User Group Meeting noon-1 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 21 Bluemont Hall
Reflector 2 – app to display an iPad screen on your desktop. You can’t share an iPad screen via Zoom on the K-State network. Therefore, a work around is to display your iPad screen on your desktop and then share your desktop. The Reflector 2 app makes this possible.
