K-State sidewalk views included in huge Google Maps Street View update

During the week of Aug. 19, Google Maps Street View was on campus taking pictures from K-State sidewalks.  On Oct. 11, Google released its largest StreetView update ever, with 250,000 miles of new and updated roads.  This large update includes the Street View pictures taken in August from sidewalks across K-State’s campus.  Continue reading “K-State sidewalk views included in huge Google Maps Street View update”

A Google team is on the Manhattan campus this week to capture Kansas State University for the interactive Internet experience Google Maps with Street View. The feature lets users explore places around the world through 360-degree street-level imagery.

New oversize scanner in MDC handles 5'x7' media

The Media Development Center has recently added an oversize scanner to the lab. The copy stand mount can accommodate artwork measuring up to 36 inches by 48 inches. Larger works measuring up to 5 feet by 7 feet can be mounted to the wall and digitized.

Four Winds Interactive will show their interactive kiosks and digital signage solutions at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11 a.m. demos on Wednesday, Nov. 17, in Room 209 of the K-State Student Union. Solutions will cover these and more:

Four Winds Interactive will demonstrate their interactive kiosks and digital signage solutions at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, in Room 209 of the K-State Student Union.

All three sessions are free, and bagels, coffee, and juice will be provided.

Four Winds will share how their solutions can be used to:

  • Increase campus safety using emergency messaging
  • Display campus maps
  • List building directories
  • Post up-to-date news and information
