Greetings from the Staley School of Leadership Studies! We hope you’ve enjoyed the first six months of “The Loop” Blog!

It’s been an exciting year so far, celebrating 20 Years of Leadership Studies at Kansas State University! Throughout the past semester, we have shared updates from our academic programs, service-learning and civic engagement opportunities, and messages from our alumni and friends who have shared their passion and support through our 20th Anniversary Engagement Initiative: Leadership for Life.

The goal of the Initiative is to connect with as many of our alumni and friends as possible to celebrate this shared milestone and enlist their support in building the story of the next 20 years and beyond.

We hope you’ll be part of this celebratory year by providing a contribution, in any amount, to the Leadership for Life Fund and marking your calendar for our 20th Anniversary Celebration Weekend, November 10th-12th!

Stay in touch on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, or by subscribing to “The Loop!”

Best Wishes,

More Than a Program—It’s a Family

Whenever someone mentions the Staley School of Leadership Studies, my face lights up! For me, it truly felt like a second home (and not because SSLS started out as Leadership Studies and Programs in two houses located on Manhattan Avenue). It was my home away from home because it had that family atmosphere. Leadership Studies is where I learned about my abilities and skills as a leader because the faculty and staff knew their students on a deeper level beyond the classroom. Faculty, advisers, and both classes of Snyder Fellows gathered to honor the 2016-2017 outgoing class of Snyder Leadership Legacy Fellows and induct the new 2017-2018 class. Here’s a look at what the outgoing class has accomplished and an introduction to the newly-selected class. Continue reading “Snyder Fellows Celebrate Outgoing and Incoming Classes”

Our Story: From Humble Beginnings to a Thriving Program

By: Aubrey Abbott Patterson (’98)

When I think about why I support the Staley School of Leadership Studies, I can’t help but think back to my time at K-State — when the program itself was still an idea, a vision of what could be.
