Hello KS-LSAMP students there are several upcoming events that can count as participation in the KS-LSAMP Scholar program. Remember you will need a total of 3 events to advance to Silver Scholar status and have the opportunity to apply for scholarships. Upcoming events include:

Volunteer Opportunity

Interested in sharing your STEM/K-State experience with others? KS-LSAMP is hosting an event for potential transfer students and we need your help! Opportunities to guide campus tours (no experience needed), attend dinner or social events and interact with students are available. This is your chance to share your experiences with other students.

Please remember that if you attend an approved event you must submit a short summary including 1) why you chose to attend the event and 2) what you learned as a result of attending the event (total 500 words for both questions). Your responses can be sent to breneek@ksu.edu and Dr. King will mark you down as participating that event.

The Great Paradigm
February 4, 2016
5:00 – 9:00 pm
K-State Union, Little Theater

Attend this event for a round table discussion on Hip Hop education, social justice and community development and empowerment. Free event. Attendance at this event would fall into the personal development category.

Chinese Cultural Fair 2016
February 7, 2016
2:00 – 5:00 pm
K-State Student Union, Main Ballroom
The event will feature Chinese calligraphy, paper-cutting, Chinese tangrams, jigsaw puzzles, Chinese chess and Go, traditional costumes, and of course Chinese dim-sums. The new Chinese Art Group at K-State also will present its inaugural performance with an elaborate fan dance. All programs are free and open to the public.

Engineering Career Fair
February 9th and 10th, 2016
K-State Student Union, Main Ballroom
Visit with a wide range of engineering companies looking for interns, co-op, and full-time employees. Other majors beside engineering are free to attend and interact with employers.
