Recent ECE graduate passes away suddenly

Petr, BrianBrian Petr, 24, computer support technician and Army Specialist in Jacksonville, Florida, died unexpectedly on November 3, 2017. Brian was born in Wichita, Kansas, on March 28, 1993 and graduated in 2011 from Kapaun Mount Carmel High School, where he first became interested in fixing computers. He was active in Boy Scouts during elementary and high school and received his Eagle rank in 2011. During his time at Kansas State University, Brian worked with the ResNet Staff, where he met his wife, Amy, and joined the Army Reserve serving in the Emporia, Kansas and then the Jacksonville, Florida units. He received his BS in Computer Engineering from Kansas State University. Brian enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing video games, making puns, and helping everyone he met. Brian is survived by his wife, Amy (Piatt) Petr; parents, Don and Kathy (Riedel) Petr; brother, Michael; sister-in-law, Geraldine (Gomez) Petr; nephew, Jerome; niece, Bernadette; father-in-law, Raymond Piatt; mother-in-law, Frances Piatt; and brothers-in-law, Terry and David Albin. Rosary will be at 10:00 AM, and funeral at 10:30 AM, on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Church of the Resurrection, 4910 North Woodlawn, Wichita. Interment will be at Ascension Cemetery, 7200 E. 45th St. North, Bel Aire, Kansas. Memorials may be directed to Resurrection Catholic School (4900 N.
