Registration open for K-State Online conference Sept. 24-25

Registration for the fourth annual Axio Learning/K-State Online Conference is now open! Come join us Thursday and Friday, Sept. 24-25, at the K-State Alumni Center in Manhattan. The conference will focus on the future of online education, innovative distance learning methods, and K-State Online/Axio Learning.

The conference is free to attend, but pre-registration is encouraged. Register and view the full conference schedule on the Axio Conference website.

Conference highlights:

  • In partnership with the Provost’s Lecture Series, Mark Milliron of Catalyze Learning International will present the keynote speech 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25. Milliron is an award-winning leader, author, and educator.
  • The annual open forum is scheduled 1–2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. This open discussion about K-State Online will be moderated by Jan Middendorf, assistant director of the Office of Educational Innovation and Evaluation.
  • L. Sue Williams, associate professor of sociology: “Bringing Students into Pedagogy” and “Value, Video, and Vision: Building your own shop”
  • Linda Yarrow, instructor of human ecology: “They Snooze, You Lose…Teaching tools to keep your students engaged”
  • JohnElla Holmes, coordinator of multicultural recruitment and retention for the College of Arts and Sciences: “Improving Student Retention: The K-State Online Holmes Method”
  • Michael Thompson and Krista Carter, Colby Community College: “The Power of Less: Liberating the Prisoners of Time and Space Redux”
  • Sandra Price, University of Missouri Kansas City: “Tuned In, Turned On: The I-CARE System for Built-In Student Learning Satisfaction”
