Spotlight: EDUCAUSE Quarterly releases 2011 publishing schedule

Faculty and staff who work in IT in higher education are encouraged to consider submitting articles to EDUCAUSE Quarterly, one of the leading peer-reviewed online journals in this field.

This journal features quarterly themes but also invites general-interest articles to run throughout the year. Articles should run between 500 – 5,000 words, and multimedia elements are highly encouraged — to maximize the use of the Web and Internet capabilities. Publication guidelines and more are available online, including planned themes and submission deadlines (see below).

The first issue of 2011 should be delivered in a mobile-friendly way.

The 2011 themes listed on the EQ website are reprinted below.

No. 1 EQ, Mobile Everything

How are mobile devices and services changing higher education? How will mobile technology enable new approaches to teaching and learning, administrative services, and IT across campus? Send submissions to eqeditor@educause.edu. NOTE: This issue will also focus on providing mobile-friendly articles, with short, clear titles; subheads and bullet/number lists to help organize the information concisely; and no pop-up sidebars. Contact the editor for more information.

No. 2 EQ, Alternate IT Sourcing

Share your campus’s practical experience with off-campus solutions to campus IT needs, from teaching and learning to administrative support services to security and network issues.

No. 3 EQ, Collaboration

How has collaboration, small or large, benefited initiatives on your campus, between campuses, and internationally?

No. 4 EQ, No Theme

Non-theme articles welcome.

Send submissions in mobile-friendly format to eqeditor@educause.edu.
