Information Technology Services is offering training sessions in Hale Library on Zoom, a high-definition video and audio conferencing tool that is available to all K-State students, faculty, and staff.

Seating is limited and sign-up is required for these sessions:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 11, 3-4 p.m., 301 Hale Library

Because of the room size, there is a limit of 30 participants in each session, so please sign up prior to the session if you plan on attending.

The Zoom training will consist of a quick overview, basic functionality, information on how to sign up for Zoom service, and a tutorial on these topics:

  • Updating settings
  • Scheduling and starting meetings (recurring and single instance)
  • Dual stream for dual monitor
  • Active speaker, spotlight speaker, gallery view
  • Favorites
  • Inviting participants
  • Host control options
  • Screen sharing (with and without audio)
  • Annotation
  • Remote control
  • Private/Group chat
  • Recording/Archiving meetings
  • PSTN (Phone dial-in)
  • Connecting from H.323 (i.e. Polycom) and SIP (i.e. Microsoft Lync) devices

If you are not able to attend any of the scheduled sessions or the session you would like to attend is full, please fill out the information in the Zoom Training Survey and select the “Request another session” option. More training sessions will be scheduled if there is enough interest.
