eID passwords: Is it time to change yours?

by Information Technology Services

Is it time to change your eID password? Most K-State students, faculty and staff need to change their eID passwords every 180 days in order to maintain access to K-State’s information technology resources and comply with university policy. If you fail to change your password, you will lose access to K-State email and other resources.

When it is time to change your eID password, you’ll receive an email reminder two weeks and then two days before your password expires, prompting you to change your password.

You can also manually check to see when your password will expire. First, click the “Sign in” button on the K-State homepage. After you click “Sign in”, you’ll be taken to the “Connect” page. In the eProfile section, you’ll see the “You must change your password before” date. To change your password, click the “Manage password” link.

Note: After you change your eID password, you’ll need to update your computers, devices and applications with the new password, including:

  • KSU Wireless and/or KSU Housing Wireless connections
  • Your local email and calendar client
  • Mobile devices such as your cellphone or tablet

K-State policy prohibits using someone else’s eID or sharing passwords. It is your responsibility to keep your eID password private.
