Updated Canvas training starts January 2015

By Rebecca Gould

iTAC staff have read the feedback from an online survey and heard the comments of faculty and staff regarding Canvas training. As a result, the training has been reworked and will be offered beginning in January.

The face-to-face training has been revamped and includes three different sessions:

  • Discovering the Power of Canvas
  • Designing Course Content
  • Developing Quizzes and Assignments

These sessions are about 90 minutes in length.  They will be hands-on and allow faculty and staff to create their own Canvas course; move content from K-State Online; learn the difference between modules and pages; and more. Faculty can sign up for any and all sessions, which don’t have to be completed in any sequence. Attendees need to bring a laptop and be prepared to work through specific tasks.

Walk-in assistance will be provided throughout the year for questions and answers and specific assistance with Canvas functionality. Help will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The first sessions are scheduled 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16.  Both are in Union Staterooms 1 and 2.

To find the dates and times for upcoming training, visit the Canvas Training website.

Thank you to the campus for providing valuable feedback to improve our services.
