Gary Pratt finalist for Kansas City CIO of the Year ORBIE award

Gary Pratt, K-State’s Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, is a finalist for the 2022 Kansas City CIO of the Year ORBIE Award!

Since 1998, the CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards has recognized technology executives for outstanding leadership and the business value created by technology innovation. This year over 130 nominations were received, demonstrating the depth and breadth of technology leaders in Kansas City-based organizations.

Finalists and winners are selected by an independent peer-review process led by prior ORBIE recipients.

The ORBIE Awards will be presented in 26 cities, celebrating over 1,800 finalists and over 400 CIO of the Year ORBIE winners. This year’s winner will be announced in Kansas City on September 16.

Pratt joined K-State in October of 2017. He previously served as Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at Eastern Washington University. Pratt has a Doctor of Management and Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Arts in management computer information systems from the University of Denver, and a Bachelor of Science from Colorado School of Mines.
