Grades must be entered and approved in iSIS by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21. The deadline to copy grades from K-State Online to iSIS is 4 p.m. that same day. Students will be able to view grades for regular courses in iSIS on Wednesday, Dec. 22.

Training for submitting grades in iSIS is now scheduled. The free training sessions are

  • Thu, Dec. 16:  2-3 p.m. in Fairchild 9
  • Fri, Dec. 17:     10-11 a.m. in Fairchild 9
  • Fri, Dec. 17:     2-3 p.m. in Fairchild 9
  • Tue, Dec. 21:  10-11 a.m. in Fairchild 9

If you have grading to complete, bring it to the session and we will make sure your grades are entered correctly and completely before you leave.

Q/A: How to print from iSIS?

iSIS support staff have received several questions this past week regarding printing screens from iSIS. It seems that, in most browsers, the iSIS and K-State headings are printed, but the content of the page is omitted.

In response, several of the most common “printer friendly version” pages — such as Class and Grade Rosters, student schedules, and DARS reports — have been given a single Print button that will print the desired page.

To print any other page in iSIS, refer to the Printing from iSIS webpage and locate the instructions for your specific browser.

iSIS Upgrade: How will I know when iSIS is back up after the upgrade?

While the upgrade is scheduled to last from 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, there is a chance that the application will be ready sooner. Once the project team has completed the upgrade, and all affected offices have completed their testing of the system, the upgrade will be considered finalized and a time for making it available to the campus will be determined. There will be at least four hours notice given to the K-State community.

iSIS Upgrade: What will not be available during the upgrade?

The iSIS upgrade is scheduled for the week of Thanksgiving break — after 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, through Wednesday, Nov. 24. During this time, iSIS will be unavailable.

  • Faculty will not be able to see their class rosters from iSIS, although they will still be available through K-State Online.
  • Students will not be able to enroll for classes.
  • Administrators will not be able to look up information about classes, students, faculty, or other resources housed in iSIS.
  • Applications for admission submitted through the K-State website will be queued and processed as soon as iSIS is up and running again.

iSIS Upgrade: What’s new for students?

What enhancements will students see in the new version of iSIS?

Students can expect an easier-to-use iSIS student information system after the Thanksgiving break. Here are some examples of improvements for students:

Microsoft Access training classes in November

iTAC is offering Microsoft Access (database) classes for all K-Staters in the month of November. The schedule is:

iSIS Upgrade: What about My Favorites?

Will “My Favorites” from iSIS be carried over during the coming upgrade?

The items in My Favorites, which are personally bookmarked iSIS links, will be copied from the current version of iSIS into the upgraded iSIS. However, note the following exceptions, which will not be copied when any My Favorites item:

  • No longer exists due to a change in functionality
  • Location has been changed
  • Name has been changed

For more about My Favorites in iSIS, see the Adding Favorites short video.

iSIS Upgrade: You’re doing this when?!?

The iSIS upgrade will occur from 5 p.m. Nov 19 through 5 p.m. Nov 24, during that time iSIS will be unavailable.

Why is iSIS being upgraded in the middle of the semester?  The upgrade is occurring in the middle of the semester during fall break because the business-operation demand for iSIS is at its lowest when classes are not in session. No classes will be held the week of the upgrade, so the process interruption is expected to be at its lowest for the year.

The end and beginning of the semesters are unusually busy times for academic departments and administrative units as they close one semester and prepare to open another. The upgrade must be completed prior to Summer 2011 so that K-State can continue to comply with regulatory requirements.

iSIS Upgrade: What’s new?

K-State’s iSIS Upgrade is scheduled for Nov. 19-24. During that time, iSIS will be unavailable to faculty, staff, and students. Once the upgrade is complete, iSIS users will notice:

For ongoing updates about the upgrade, see the iSIS Upgrade News webpage.
