IT Help Desk hours extended through Feb. 5

At the beginning of the semester, the IT Help Desk hours were extended to accommodate health and safety concerns due to the surge of the Omicron variant of Covid-19.

The extended hours will continue through Saturday, February 5, as indicated below:

  • 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. All services – Hale Library walk-in, phone, and email
  • After 5p.m. Remote services via phone and email, no walk-in services

As needed, further updates will be provided in K-State Today and the IT News Blog. The IT Help Desk hours are available on the IT Help Desk webpage.

Service Desk Hours Updated for Start of spring 2022 Semester

Starting January 18th, the Kansas State University IT Service Desk hours will change from those previously posted. These steps are being taken to protect the health and safety of all K-Staters and maintain operational continuity given the surge with the Omicron variant of Covid-19 as outlined by the recent K-State Today article.

The first two weeks of the spring 2022 semester (Jan 18th to Jan 28th), Monday thru Friday the IT Service Desk will offer services to the campus at the following times:

  • 8am – 5pm: All services – Hale Library walk-in, phone and email
  • After 5pm: Remote services – Phone and email with no walk-in staff at Hale

If this schedule needs to be extended, updates will be provided accordingly.

CRM introduction training scheduled for Spring 2022

CRMCRM Introduction Training has been scheduled for the Spring 2022 semester starting on January 5. To participate in the training, you must complete and submit the CRM Access Form. The form must be completed and submitted before your training date.  

Topics to be covered

  • Introduction to the CRM
  • Basic structure and terminology
  • Hierarchy
  • How to sign in
  • Home screen, personal settings, navigation, and tabs
  • List views
  • Questions

Available sessions

  • Jan. 5 – 1-2:30 p.m.
  • Jan. 10 – 9-10:30 a.m.
  • Jan. 26 – 1-2:30 p.m.
  • Feb. 7 – 1-2:30 p.m.
  • Feb. 23 – 1-2:30 p.m.
  • March 7 – 9-10:30 a.m.
  • March 23 – 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • April 4 – 1:30-3 p.m.
  • April 20 – 1-2:30 p.m.
  • May 2 – 10-11:30 a.m.
  • May 18 – 1:30-3 p.m.

Grading in KSIS training for Fall 2021 now available

Grading in KSIS training is available for faculty and staff who are involved in submitting grades at the end of the fall 2021 term. Training topics include:

  • Transferring grades from Canvas to KSIS
  • Manually entering grades in KSIS
  • Updating grades in KSIS
  • Submitting a Grade Change Request form in KSIS
  • Q&A for grade submission at K-State

All sessions take place Zoom.

  • Monday, Nov. 29, 9-10 a.m.
  • Monday, Dec. 7, 1-2 p.m.

If you are unable to attend a session for Grading in KSIS but would like to receive training, contact Fred Darkow at fdarkow@k-state.edu to discuss availability.

KSIS Training sessions for Fall 2021 available

KSIS training dates and times are now available for fall 2021. Instructor-led, Zoom based training is available for faculty, academic advisors, and staff at no charge. However, registration through HRIS is required. See Using HRIS to register for classes.

Training for staff and faculty include the following topics:

  • Class Scheduler
  • Deans Office Staff
  • Grading in KSIS
  • Master Extract Reporting
  • Processing Minors in KSIS

Master Extract Reporting in KSIS offered monthly in Fall 2021

Training sessions for Master Extract Reporting in KSIS for fall 2021 are now available. The monthly sessions are only for staff who have been granted the Master Extract Reporting permission. The training schedule is set for one session each month.

You must have permission set up for Master Extract Reporting in KSIS before you can take this class.

All sessions are scheduled in Zoom:

  • Thursday, September 16, 1-2 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 13, 10-11 a.m.
  • Monday, November 8, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
  • Monday, November 29, 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Registration through HRIS is required. See Using HRIS to register for classes.

If the offered sessions do not fit your schedule, please contact the KSIS training coordinator, Fred Darkow, at fdarkow@k-state.edu to request additional classes. Attendees will be notified if a session is canceled and will be asked to register for an alternative training session.

Advising in KSIS training dates now available for Fall 2021

Training dates for Advising in KSIS are now available for the fall 2021 semester. Sessions focus on the KSU Advisor Center functions. Full-time advisors and faculty advisors are encouraged to attend. Registration through HRIS is required. See Using HRIS to register for classes.

Advising training now available

The following Advising in KSIS sessions are provided in Zoom.  Zoom session information is provided on the morning of the training.  The available times are:

  • Monday, Sept. 13, 1-2:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1:30-3p.m.

Topics covered during the sessions include, but are not limited to:

  • Advisee information pages
  • Running and viewing a DARS audit
  • Removing advising flags
  • Viewing program/plan history
  • Viewing test scores

KSIS Class Scheduler training available for Fall 2021

KSIS Class Scheduler training is now available for sign-up in HRIS. Sessions are designed for employees new to the Class Scheduler process as well as refreshers for employees who have previously updated class schedules.

Topics include:

  • Printing the Class Schedule report
  • Updating room locations
  • Updating instructors
  • Updating the section status
  • Other course-related details

All sessions are held in 306 Calvin Hall.  The dates and times for the Class Scheduler sessions are:

New Class Scheduler

  • Monday, Sept. 20, 1-2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 23, 1-2:30 p.m.

Class Scheduler Tools (NEW)

  • Monday., Sept. 27, 1-2 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 30, 1-2 p.m.
