HRIS, KSIS, and DARS maintenance scheduled for Dec. 12

HRIS, KSIS, and DARS will be unavailable from midnight – 4 a.m. on Sunday, December 12. Maintenance will be performed on the Oracle PeopleSoft systems. HRIS, KSIS, and DARS will be unavailable from midnight – 4 a.m. on Sunday, November 14. Maintenance will be performed on the Oracle PeopleSoft systems. This maintenance will keep the system secure and up to date. Once applied, the systems will be brought back up for your use. Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain our IT systems.

Grading in KSIS training for Fall 2021 now available

Grading in KSIS training is available for faculty and staff who are involved in submitting grades at the end of the fall 2021 term. Training topics include:

  • Transferring grades from Canvas to KSIS
  • Manually entering grades in KSIS
  • Updating grades in KSIS
  • Submitting a Grade Change Request form in KSIS
  • Q&A for grade submission at K-State

All sessions take place Zoom.

  • Monday, Nov. 29, 9-10 a.m.
  • Monday, Dec. 7, 1-2 p.m.

If you are unable to attend a session for Grading in KSIS but would like to receive training, contact Fred Darkow at fdarkow@k-state.edu to discuss availability.

Financial Information System upgrade is complete

Over the weekend, the Division of Financial Services, in collaboration with the Division of Information Technology (IT), upgraded the  Financial Information System (FIS).

At this time, it is recommended you use either Chrome or Firefox to access FIS. If you experience issues using FIS, try deleting cookies, temporary internet files, browser history, and clearing cache. If you still have trouble using FIS, contact the IT Help Desk at 785-532-7722.

Upgrading is an essential step toward IT, achieving its goal of providing a modern, scalable network and computing infrastructure for K-State. To learn more, view K-State’s IT Strategic Plan.

FIS is the central accounting system used by KSU colleges, departments, and administrative units to process payment transactions, report, and manage grant post-awards.

Advising in KSIS training dates now available for Fall 2021

Training dates for Advising in KSIS are now available for the fall 2021 semester. Sessions focus on the KSU Advisor Center functions. Full-time advisors and faculty advisors are encouraged to attend. Registration through HRIS is required. See Using HRIS to register for classes.

Advising training now available

The following Advising in KSIS sessions are provided in Zoom.  Zoom session information is provided on the morning of the training.  The available times are:

  • Monday, Sept. 13, 1-2:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1:30-3p.m.

Topics covered during the sessions include, but are not limited to:

  • Advisee information pages
  • Running and viewing a DARS audit
  • Removing advising flags
  • Viewing program/plan history
  • Viewing test scores

KSIS Class Scheduler training available for Fall 2021

KSIS Class Scheduler training is now available for sign-up in HRIS. Sessions are designed for employees new to the Class Scheduler process as well as refreshers for employees who have previously updated class schedules.

Topics include:

  • Printing the Class Schedule report
  • Updating room locations
  • Updating instructors
  • Updating the section status
  • Other course-related details

All sessions are held in 306 Calvin Hall.  The dates and times for the Class Scheduler sessions are:

New Class Scheduler

  • Monday, Sept. 20, 1-2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 23, 1-2:30 p.m.

Class Scheduler Tools (NEW)

  • Monday., Sept. 27, 1-2 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 30, 1-2 p.m.
