Training dates now available for Advising in KSIS

Training dates for Advising in KSIS are available for sign-up in HRIS. Sessions focus on the KSU Advisor Center functions. Full-time advisors and faculty advisors are encouraged to attend. Registration through HRIS is required. See Using HRIS to register for classes.

The following Advising in KSIS sessions are in 306 or 318 Calvin Hall on the Manhattan campus.  The available times are:

  • Wed., Sept. 13, 9:30 – 11 a.m.
  • Tues., Sept. 19, 1 – 2:30 p.m. (318)
  • Mon., Sept. 25, 1:30 – 3 p.m.

Topics covered during the sessions include, but are not limited to:

  • Advisee information pages
  • Running and viewing a DARS audit
  • Removing advising flags
  • Viewing program/plan history
  • Viewing test scores

Master Extract Reporting in KSIS offered monthly in fall 2017

Training sessions for Master Extract Reporting in KSIS for fall 2017 are now available. The monthly sessions are only for staff who have been granted the Master Extract Reporting permission. Previous sessions were limited to one month of a term. To make the training more available for staff members, the schedule is set for one session each month.

You must have permissions set up for Master Extract Reporting in KSIS before you can take this class.

All sessions are scheduled in 306 Calvin Hall:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 26, 1:30 – 2:30p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 6, 11 a.m – 12 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 1, 11 a.m – 12 p.m.
  • Monday, Nov. 27, 3 – 4 p.m.

Registration through HRIS is required. See Using HRIS to register for classes.

If the offered sessions do not fit your schedule, please contact the KSIS training coordinator, Fred Darkow, at fdarkow@k-state.edu to request additional classes. Attendees will be notified if a session is canceled and will be asked to register for an alternative training session.

KSIS Training sessions for Fall 2017 available

KSIS training dates and times are now available for fall 2017.  Instructor-led training is available for faculty, academic advisors, and staff at no charge. However, registration through HRIS is required. See Using HRIS to register for classes.

Grade submission deadlines for summer 2017

Grades for the summer 2017 term are due by 5 p.m. Friday, August 18. The August 18day after the instructor approves and submits the grades in KSIS they are posted to students’ academic records. Grades are posted every 24 hours so students can view their grades the day after the instructor submits them.

New KSIS navigation for students

K-State’s Student Information System (KSIS) was successfully upgraded to version 9.2 over the summer. KSIS 9.2 has a new navigation, personalization options, and mobile-friendly features for iOS and Android devices.

KSIS 9.2 upgrade completed

Information Technology Services, or ITS, has successfully completed the KSIS upgrade to version 9.2. The upgrade represents K-State’s ongoing investment to provide the K-State community with the most complete, flexible and innovative student information system available.

Reminder: Sign out of KSIS by 5 p.m. today

K-State’s Student Information System (KSIS) will be unavailable 5 p.m. Friday, July 21, through Sunday, July 23,  while Information Technology Services upgrades the system to a new release. KSIS will resume full operations on Monday, July 24.

Users should complete transactions and sign out of KSIS by 5 p.m. Friday, July 21. If you do not sign out by 5 p.m., you will be automatically signed out and any unsaved data will be lost.

After the upgrade, KSIS will have new navigation and mobile-friendly features for iOS and Android devices. Users are encouraged to visit the new KSIS 9.2 Resources web page for an overview of new features, FAQs, and trouble-shooting tips.

KSIS-upgrade migration downtime July 21-23

The KSIS upgrade project began last fall, and the target date to complete the KSIS upgrade is Monday, July 24. KSIS will be unavailable during the upgrade window from 5 p.m. Friday, July 21, through Sunday, July 23.

The upgrade represents K-State’s ongoing investment to provide the K-State community with the most complete, flexible, and innovative student information system available.

KSIS upgrade progress report

The KSIS upgrade project team is currently working with various focus groups to conduct pre-release testing and prepare for the go-live date Monday, July 24.

KSIS will be unavailable during the upgrade window from Friday evening, July 21, through Sunday, July 23.

Once the upgrade is complete, KSIS will have a new mobile-friendly navigation. The new NavBar navigation will allow you to access: Recent Places, My Favorites, Navigator (all your folders), and Classic Home. Users will be able to add both Fluid (new) and Classic (old) pages to My Favorites in the NavBar.
