Spotlight: EDUCAUSE Quarterly releases 2011 publishing schedule

Faculty and staff who work in IT in higher education are encouraged to consider submitting articles to EDUCAUSE Quarterly, one of the leading peer-reviewed online journals in this field.

This journal features quarterly themes but also invites general-interest articles to run throughout the year. Articles should run between 500 – 5,000 words, and multimedia elements are highly encouraged — to maximize the use of the Web and Internet capabilities. Publication guidelines and more are available online, including planned themes and submission deadlines (see below).

IT awards given to recipients at Feb. 25 ceremony

The annual IT Awards and Recognition Ceremony was Thursday, Feb. 25. Award recipients are listed below. The 2010 Award Recipients webpage has links to details about the winners and their achievements.

The “Non-IT Meritorious” category is new this year. This award recognizes people in non-IT departments who have supported the use of technology in some way at K-State.

Media Development Center hours December-January

The Media Development Center (213 Hale Library) has modified its hours to accommodate end-of-semester activities and winter break. The center is normally open until 10 p.m., but Monday-Thursday hours have been extended to midnight this week and next, through Thursday, Dec. 10.

Tue-Thu, Dec. 1-3 10 a.m.-midnight
Fri, Dec. 4 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sat, Dec. 5 1-5 p.m.
Sun, Dec. 6 1-10 p.m.
Mon-Thu, Dec. 7-10 10 a.m.-midnight
Fri, Dec. 11 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
