K-State's Novell site license to be discontinued June 30

Computing and Telecommunication Services (CTS) has been working the last few years to transition K-State away from Novell-based servers and services to Microsoft-based solutions. These migrations are complete and the current agreement with Novell for a site license for their products is no longer required. The current site-license contract will expire June 30.

Individual units and departments that prefer to use Novell products are welcome to do so, but will be required to maintain their own licensing.  Continue reading “K-State's Novell site license to be discontinued June 30”

NIST publishes server security guidelines

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently finalized a publication that provides an excellent overview of server security.
