Windows XP to be blocked from campus network starting June 25

On April 8, 2014, Microsoft ended support of the Windows XP operating system. IT staff across campus have been working to upgrade computers or remove Windows XP computers from the network in preparation for the eventual blocking of Windows XP computers from the K-State network. On June 25, computers running Windows XP that are still connected to the K-State network will be blocked from accessing network resources including K-State applications, email, servers and the Internet.  Continue reading “Windows XP to be blocked from campus network starting June 25”

Assistance for students who need to upgrade their computer from Windows XP

Microsoft stops supporting Windows XP Service Pack 3 on April 8.  This means that there will be no new security updates or support through Microsoft. After this date, your computer may be more vulnerable to security risks and may be blocked from accessing the K-State network.

Windows XP and Office 2003 end of support in April 2014

April 8, 2014. This is the date when Microsoft will no longer support Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Office 2003.  This means that after April 8 next year, there will be no new security updates and assisted support options through Microsoft.
