Hello KS-LSAMP students there are several upcoming events that can count as participation in the KS-LSAMP Scholar program. Remember you will need a total of 3 events to advance to Silver Scholar status and have the opportunity to apply for scholarships. Upcoming events include:

Interested in what you can do outside the classroom? Listen to current K-State students talk about how and why they got involved on campus and how they manage their schedules to avoid over-involvement. No registration necessary.

KS-LSAMP Approved Events
Please remember that if you attend an approved event you must submit a short summary including 1) why you chose to attend the event and 2) what you learned as a result of attending the event (total 500 words for both questions). Your responses can be sent to breneek@ksu.edu and Dr. King will mark you down as participating that event.

The Chinese New Year Celebration Gala
February 15, 2016

McCain Auditorium
Performances at the gala include the traditional Chinese dances and songs to modern pop songs and American swing dance. All of these shows will be performed by talented K-State students, faculty and staff members. Attendees of the gala will have the opportunity to win a TV, iWatch and more. Admission tickets will available for free at the McCain box office starting Wednesday, Feb. 10. The admission tickets also will be used for the gift raffle. Attendance at this event would fall into the personal development category.

Distinguished Young Alumnus Keynote Speaker – Clemente Jaquez
