“In Kansas, hay trade activity remains light. Demand light for stock cow and grinding alfalfa, moderate for dairy alfalfa, alfalfa pellets, and grass hay. Hay usage normal. The market and prices remain steady to stagnant, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jan. 19. Prices given on a per-ton basis, unless otherwise noted.“

North Central/ Northeast

Dairy/grinding alfalfa, prairie hay and brome steady. Movement slow. Horse alfalfa, $250-$300; supreme dairy, $.90-$1/point RFV, $175-$210, premium, $160-$180; fair/good stock cow, $100-$120. Fair/good grinding alfalfa, edge of the field, $70-$75, utility/fair, large rounds, $55-$60; ground and delivered, $105-$120. Good bluestem grass hay, small squares, $5/bale or $6/bale delivered, $100-$130, medium squares, $70-$90, mostly, $70, large rounds, $55-$70; fair, $50-$55. Brome, good, small squares, $7/bale, $120-$145/ton, medium squares, $100-$120, large rounds, $25-$50/bale, $60-$70/ton, mostly $60, fair, $50-$60.
