“In Kansas, hay trade activity remains slow, with spots moderate. Demand light to moderate for all hay types. Demand for dairy up slightly. Hay usage is steady. Prices remain steady overall, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Feb. 2. Prices given on a per-ton basis, unless otherwise noted.“

North Central/Northeast

Dairy/grinding alfalfa, prairie hay and brome steady. Movement slow. Horse/goat alfalfa, $250-$300; supreme dairy, $.90-$1/point RFV, $175-$210, premium, $160-$180; fair/good stock cow, $100-$120. Fair/good grinding alfalfa, $70-$75, utility/fair, large rounds, $55-$60; ground and delivered, $105-$120. Good bluestem grass hay, small squares, $5/bale or $6/bale delivered, $100-$130/ton, medium squares, $70-$90, mostly, $70, large rounds, $55-$70; fair, $50-$55. Brome, good, small squares, $7/bale, $120-$145/ton, medium squares, $100-$120, large rounds, $25-$50/bale, $60-$70/ton, mostly $60, fair, $50-$60. Good straw, small squares, $4/bale or $5/bale delivered, large squares, $55-$75/ton, large rounds, $55-$65. Good sudan, large rounds, $60-$65.
