I’m very excited about starting my new position as Website and Marketing Manager at the Beach Museum of Art and looking forward to working with everyone.  Before accepting this position and moving to Manhattan, I worked for the past 3 years in Topeka, KS as Marketing Manager at the Topeka Performing Arts Center, a non-profit theater.  Originally from Iowa City, home of the Hawkeyes, I graduated from the University of Iowa.  As a student there I was heavily involved in student arts organizations and discovered my interest in marketing.  I worked 6 years as the Marketing Director for The Fine Line Music Café in Minneapolis, MN before coming to Kansas.  I am passionate about working in the arts, marketing and communications, excited about emerging online platforms as well as discovering new music.  I hope we all get to meet each other soon!

Campus Construction and the Beach Museum of Art

Building on tradition

We know comfort is key to making academic progress and groundbreaking discoveries. K-State is undergoing several heating and cooling projects across campus, including chilled water expansion, that will accommodate infrastructure changes now and in the future. To see updates and how your trip to K-State or the Beach Museum of Art may be affected check here.

As of July 17, 2015 The Beach Museum of Art will no longer have access to our visitor parking lot. Providing parking for our visitors is important, so make sure to look for the designated visitor spots in the main lot outside the museum, you will still have to register your vehicle once inside the museum. If those spots are full, and you are able to find a spot in the lot, go ahead and take it, but let us know when you get inside, we can provide you with a day pass for use during your visit at the museum.

If you have questions, feel free to give us a call 785.532.7718

Staff Spotlight: Theresa Ketterer

Theresa Ketterer, Assistant Registrar
Theresa Ketterer, Assistant Registrar

My name is Theresa Marie Ketterer. I started working at the Beach as Assistant Registrar in January. I enjoy the friendly environment and diverse collection at the museum. Before coming to Manhattan, I was at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, completing my MA in Art History and interning at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In the past, I worked for the Art Institute of Chicago, Illinois State Museum Chicago Gallery, and Gilcrease Museum. In 2012, I received my BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and since then, I have continued to make art myself. My artwork usually takes the form of abstract drawings of animals overlapped with symbols from a variety of cultures in ink on paper. As an undergraduate exchange student, I studied studio art at the Bauhaus Universtität-Weimar. In graduate school, I served as a student archaeologist and draftsman’s assistant on archaeological excavations in Selinunte, Sicily.
