MLK Weekof Service 2021
HandsOn K-State, a program of the Staley School of Leadership Studies, will host the MLK Week of Service event Feb. 1, through Feb. 8. Community members and K-State students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate.
Do-it-yourself service kits will be available for pickup Monday, Feb. 1. Kits include all materials needed to create an item that will be donated to a local agency. Examples of DIY items include animal treats and toys, fleece blankets and care kits for senior citizens. Complete the DIY item and return it Feb. 8. More information about pick up and drop off is listed below.
In addition to the DIY service kits, donations to the Cats’ Cupboard, K-State’s food pantry, will be accepted at the Leadership Studies Building, Monday, Feb. 8. Suggested donation items include canned chicken, canned chicken broth, dry noodles, canned chili beans, diced tomatoes, diced green chilies, chili seasoning packets, and other items to prepare soup.
