Remembering Olivia P. Collins

Photo of Olivia CollinsFriends will remember Dr. Olivia P. Collins on Sunday, April 2, from 4 – 8 p.m., at the K-State Alumni Center, 1720 Anderson Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas. The celebration of life will be a come-and-go event, celebrating her life as she celebrated her friends and loved ones – both with coffee and connection, and a raised glass, music and dancing. No formal program, all are invited.

Since news of her passing in December, we have been touched by the many notes we have received at the Staley School, expressing the positive impact Olivia Collins made in the lives of students, colleagues, and our community. Dr. Collins laid the foundation for K-State’s Nonprofit Leadership Program, building it with her passion and vision for supporting students and advancing the nonprofit sector. She contributed to the K-State community in many meaningful ways throughout her career. Her obituary shares more.

Olivia’s legacy is found in the work of countless community organizations and in the lives of all those she taught and collaborated with as a professor, mentor, and community leader. We are forever grateful for our friend and colleague.

  1. I don’t have any idea how to cling to somebody who doesn’t exist in a similar world as me.
