All members of the Manhattan and Kansas State University communities are invited to participate in the 2025 MLK Day of Service. Participants will serve at one of several locations across Manhattan, Kansas, on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 8 a.m. to noon.
“I believe you’re someone who wants to help improve the world and make it a better place. MLK Day of Service provides a practical way to do just that. It’s more than just a day of giving back—it’s an opportunity to continue Dr. King’s legacy, connect with others, discover local resources, and engage in something larger than yourself,” said Del’Sha Roberts, administrator of HandsOn Kansas State.
“It was so great to work directly with the organization to learn more about what they do and who they serve, and it felt good to make a tangible difference in the space. I really loved it!” said Tracey Hurt, volunteer at the 2024 MLK Day of Service.
A breakfast and program will take place at the Leadership Studies Building (1300 Mid-Campus Drive North) from 8-8:30 a.m. Volunteers will then head to service locations – transportation will be provided if needed. Some sites include PeaceFull Pantry, Goodwill, Manhattan Emergency Shelter, and Kansas 4-H.
