The Mobile Food Distribution scheduled for April 17 has been canceled for safely and health precautions. In an abundance of caution, Harvesters’ distribution center in Topeka will be closed beginning Thursday, April 16, through at least Saturday, April 18, due to possible exposure to COVID-19.
A Harvesters staff member has symptoms similar to the virus and is awaiting test results. That staff member and all other staff at the facility will be self-quarantining at home until results are received.
Harvesters knows this closure will affect many in need of assistance. However, it will allow Harvesters time to fully clean and sanitize the facility in Topeka and arrange details for resuming our operations as quickly as we can.
HandsOn K-State is working with Harvesters to schedule other Mobile Food Distributions later this spring. Dates for those distributions will be posted on the HandsOn Kansas State website and on Staley School of Leadership Studies social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) once they have been confirmed. Please email handson@ksu.edu or call 785-532-6085 with questions.
