Sara Luly, Ph.D., faculty director of the University Honors Program, has been appointed to the full-time director position, effective May 2023. As director, Luly serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the university honors program, responsible for the strategic and daily operations of the university-wide program.
Luly has served as faculty director of the program since August 2019 and during that time initiated a holistic admissions process to increase diversity of applicants and reflect best practices in collegiate honors, increased the number of pre-established contracts to broaden academic fields reflected in honors, developed student learning outcomes for honors first-year seminar, and created affiliated faculty and appointed inaugural members. Significantly, under her leadership of the program, applications to the Honors program increased by more than 150 percent.
“I am excited about the university’s commitment to grow the Honors program and to work with students, faculty, and staff to build the next-generation K-State honors experience,” said Luly.
