Welcome to the newly created Student Governing Association Blog! It’s hard to believe it’s already the end of August once again. Maybe I’m a nerd, but since coming to K-State, this has become my favorite time of year. I love the buzz of campus at the beginning of the semester, the lack of studying compared to later in the semester (at least for a few days…), and the kick-off of so many clubs and events…like football season! We’re lucky this year to get to experience our first home game on just the fifth day of classes – good luck focusing this week!
Jake and I are excited for the academic year ahead, and we’ve already been hard at work over the summer on a variety of projects, which we’ll share in detail over the next weeks and months via this blog! It’s truly incredible the number of programs and services across our campus that SGA funds or impacts in some way, and it’s my goal with this blog to – on at least a weekly basis – update you with a the happenings of SGA. We as SGA leaders can always do more to communicate with the student body, and this blog will serve as just one of the ways we’ll do so this year.
While you’re here, check out the site! Each of SGA’s three branches will be using it this year to greater communicate the work we do on a daily basis. We’ll even be providing regular updates on our platform goals via the “Platform Tracker” page – give it a look! Communication isn’t just a one way sort of thing, though. Please “Leave a Reply” on our posts (in addition to our pages on FaceBook and Twitter, as well as our email address) to communicate your concerns or wishes for campus to us throughout the year. We’ll get back to you!
Thanks for stopping by, and check back soon for our goals for the coming year!
