Universitywide services available from K-State Strengths

K-State Strengths, housed in the Staley School of Leadership, offers its services universitywide to increase student engagement and wellbeing through Strengths peer coaching, presentations and workshops. Here’s how:

For students: Peer coaching sessions

If you are looking for an individualized coaching session to leverage your Strengths toward personal or academic success, signup for a peer coaching session. Strengths peer coaches are undergraduate students trained in taking a coachlike stance to help their peers dive deeper into their top five Strengths.

During a 45-minute appointment, a peer coach guides the session to fit the needs of the student: either towards Strengths insight, aiming Strengths towards an existing challenge or working towards increasing wellbeing.

Examples of ways to integrate the work done during a Strengths peer coaching session might include:

  • A class assignment or extra credit
  • Student organization executive team/member development
  • Student organization new member onboarding
  • Residence Hall floor team-building
  • Student employee development

Students can sign up for a Strengths peer coaching session through SSC/Navigate following the instructions on the website. Meet our student peer coaches on our website.

For faculty, staff and students: Presentations and workshops

This spring we are offering individualized Strengths workshops for K-State student organizations and departments.

Faculty can also request a Strengths presentation for their classroom or receive assistance when integrating a Strengths philosophy into their course assignments. To schedule a personalized Strengths workshop for your students, staff, or department, complete the online form on the website.

Our aim is to increase student engagement and wellbeing at K-State so students, faculty and staff can thrive. All K-State students can identify their top five Strengths by taking the CliftonStrengths for Students assessment at ksu.gallup.com.
