Macs to be in InfoCommons, Union labs; software suggestions needed

During the winter break, 22 new Apple iMac computers will be installed in the K-State InfoCommons (located in Hale Library) and the K-State Student Union computing labs. Feedback is sought from the campus community as to what software should be included on these computers. The current plan is to offer:

  • Microsoft Office Suite for Macs
  • Apple iWork suite
  • OpenOffice suite
  • GIMP (image manipulation)
  • CyberDuck (FTP)
  • Apple iLife suite
  • other standard applications that come with a new Macintosh computer

Other software suggestions should be e-mailed to softwarerequest@k-state.edu. The inclusion of Macs was one of the requests in the  IT Needs Assessment survey.
