At last week’s IT Security Training Event, a competition was held to guess how long it would take to display 69,404,957 IP addresses. Those addresses represent machines that were attacked by a recently compromised computer at K-State.

2011 Security Awareness student poster and video contest

The EDUCAUSE & Internet2 Higher Education Information Security Council (HEISC), in cooperation with Chapman University, CyberWatch, and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), is conducting its fourth contest in search of short information security awareness videos and posters developed by and for college students. Deadline for submissions is March 11, 2011, which allows professors time to include it in course plans for the fall or spring semester.

Details

  • Seeking creative, topical, and effective posters and videos of two minutes or less that focus attention on information security issues and how best to handle them.
  • Two categories of videos: 2 minutes or less, for use in training or instruction, and 30-second public service announcements (PSAs).
  • Posters may be submitted separately.
