After twenty-eight years of service, Chih-Ching Ma, Information Systems Supervisor, will retire in May. Ma began her career at K-State in 1993, when she was hired as an Applications Programmer/Analyst II and promoted to Systems Analyst. She was again promoted in 2001 to Information Systems Supervisor for Facilities and has served as Information Systems Supervisor in the Office of Information Systems (renamed to Business Intelligence, Analytics and Enterprise Applications) ever since. During her career, she led the largest development team for administrative applications on campus.
Highlights of Chih-Ching’s career include her work on numerous updates to the K-State Financial System and K-State Student Information System (KSIS).
Other notable projects included:
- Implementation of Curriculog course and curriculum system
- Implementation of Facilities Management Information System (FAMIS)
- Migration of KSIS to the converged infrastructure,
- Integration of current student data in Talisma
- Integration of KSIS with EAB SSC campus
- Completion of the KSIS Salina RS2 Access IT! Integration project
Ma has had a hand in managing, maintaining, and upgrading both the financial systems and the student information system during her K-State tenure. Each year, the size, scope, and complexity of the systems grew along with her responsibilities. For her work, she received the 2006 IT Meritorious Achievement award and in 2009 the Spirit of IT award.
