Managing daily tasks across messages, meetings, and apps can pull your attention in different directions. Microsoft Teams and Loop work together to bring everything into one simple place. By creating a Loop component in your self chat, you can build a lightweight task list that syncs to the Loop app whenever you are ready to expand.
Create your Today task list in Teams
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- Open Chat, then select your name to open self chat.
- In the message field, click the Loop component button.
- Select Table to create a small task table.
- Add simple table headers for a quick start, such as Task, Due and Notes.
- Click Send.
This creates a Loop component directly within your chat, which can update automatically across apps, such as in the Loop on the web.
Open the task list in the Loop app
When you’re ready to organize or build more structure:
- Click the Loop icon (Open in browser) at the top of the task list.Note; You will have to move the page to a workspace by clicking the Add to Workspace button at the top-left of the page.
- Loop opens your task table as a page. The page title is generic, so give it a meaningful name.
- Give the page a name.
- Add additional sections as needed, such as Tomorrow, Next Week, etc.
- Expand your table, adjust column types, or create new tables.
Build out your task system in Loop
Now that your Today list lives in Loop on the web, you can grow it into a personal task dashboard:
- Add color-coded sections.
- Build multiple tables.
- Change column types.
- Add checkboxes, dates, and notes.
- Create weekly or monthly planning areas.
Everything you add automatically stays synced back to Teams.
A simple daily task list can make a big difference in staying focused. Starting in Teams keeps your tasks close, and Loop helps you build a system that grows with you.
