Spotlight: UFM's summer technology classes on social media

People wanting to learn more about social media can tap into the UFM Community Learning Center’s (www.tryufm.org) low-cost classes this summer on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter — and even learn a few new tools. The following tech classes are listed in the Career and Finance section of the summer catalog:

  • Facebook — Saturday, June 5
  • Glogster — Tuesday, June 8
  • iPhone and iPod Apps — Saturday, June 19
  • Youblisher — Saturday, Aug. 7
  • Twitter 101 — Saturday, Aug. 14

Glogster is listed as “a fast and simple way to share your videos, pictures, and text with the world — or just your friends.” Youblisher “converts PDF documents to a page-turing file on the Internet. The document/link can be shared with clients, parents, or family members.”

UFM is a “creative educational program serving Kansas State University, the Manhattan area, and the state of Kansas.” For more about classes and registration, see UFM’s www.tryufm.org website and view the 2010 UFM Summer Catalog by group category or the complete list of classes.
