Registration for the fifth annual Axio Learning/K-State Online Conference is now open. Come join us Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 29-30 at the K-State Alumni Center in Manhattan, Kan. The conference will focus on:
- The future of online education
- Innovative distance learning methods
- K-State Online/Axio Learning

Conference highlights
Professor Michael Wesch of K-State will give the keynote presentation 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29. Wesch is an award-winning professor and was dubbed “the explainer” by Wired magazine.
The annual open forum is scheduled 1–2:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29. This open discussion about K-State Online will feature some different elements than in the past, but will also maintain its usual feel. Other presentations include:
- “Using a Wiki Assignment: Group Collaboration Won’t Ever Be the Same” by Royce Ann Collins, assistant professor of education
- “Flexbooks” by Brian Lindshield, assistant professor of human nutrition
- “Creating Culture for Distance Courses” by L. Sue Williams, associate professor of sociology
- “I Have a Story to Tell: Connecting the Process and Product of Education with Digital Storytelling” by Michael Thompson and Krista Carter, Colby Community College
- “Using Axio for Survey Data Collection outside Kansas State University” by O. Shawn Cupp, retired Lt. Col. from the U.S. Army and instructor at Ft. Leavenworth
