Getting started with Canvas courses updated for fall 2020

startWhether you are an experienced Canvas user or this is your first semester teaching with the Learning Management System, the Getting Started with Canvas Course for Instructors will provide tips and tricks on how to use Canvas.

A new policy on Wearing of Face Coverings is available online in the K-State Course Syllabi Statements and in theĀ syllabus template within the Getting Started with Canvas course.

Canvas Oracle upgrade on July 31

Some Canvas tools will be unavailable from 6-8 a.m., Friday, July 31. During the downtime, Information Technology Services will be upgrading the Oracle LTI from 11 to 19. K-State Attendance, Copy Grades to KSIS, and Teval will be unavailable during the upgrade. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve your Canvas experience.

Canvas summer and fall 2020 courses have been created

The Automatic Course Creation for summer and fall 2020 is now complete. Course shells (except 900-level courses) have been created in Canvas. Student rosters will automatically be kept in sync with KSIS, with student drop/adds happening in near real-time. Changes to the course in KSIS will be reflected in the K-State Online course. To have a 900-level course created, contact the IT Help Desk.

Canvas: February updates

On Monday, March 16, New Analytics will be activated in Canvas, and the old Analytics feature will no longer be available. New Analytics offers several enhanced features, including:

  • Data is refreshed every 24 hours
  • Only active student enrollments are included in data
  • Filtered by assignments, quizzes, and graded discussions
