Open forums start today for K-State presidential candidates

The first of three finalists for the presidency of Kansas State University will give an open forum presentation at 3:30 p.m. today, Jan. 15, in Forum Hall of the K-State Student Union. The presentation by Kirk H. Schulz, vice president for research and economic development at Mississippi State, will be followed by a question-and-answer session and a meet-and-greet opportunity. All K-Staters and the general public are invited to attend. Schulz’s presentation will also be available via live webcast and on K-State TV Wildcat Cable (channel 8). Paula Allen, Women Around the World Demand Justice, Lou Douglas Lecture will air on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 8 PM. This photo and lecture event features Allen’s internationally known photography as she records the histories of women and their loved ones in an effort to tell powerful stories of abused and repressed women around the globe.

K-State TV to broadcast live volleyball game Wednesday, Nov. 5

K-State TV will broadcast the K-State vs. OU volleyball game live from Ahearn Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5. This K-State TV special presentation will also be streamed live to K-StateSports.com Powercat Passport subscribers. K-State TV’s viewing coverage, on Cox cable channel 8, includes Junction City, Manhattan, and the K-State campus.

JAZZATHON special presentation on K-State TV in November

Starting this Sunday, K-State TV will air a three-hour special presentation called JAZZATHON on Sunday evenings through November.  JAZZATHON is a showcase of the area’s best jazz artists featuring K-State music faculty, students, and guests. The program promises a unique blend of jazz styles and perfomances. Experience JAZZATHON at 6 p.m. Sundays Nov. 9, Nov. 16, Nov. 23, and Nov. 30 on K-State TV.

K-State TV to air Wildcat Request Live competition

On Wednesday evening, K-State TV will tape Wildcat Request Live.  This favorite homecoming event will be replayed at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26. Re-live the excitement of Wildcat Request Live,  and watch the high-energy lip-sync and dance competition between Greek Homecoming pairings who perform to a song of their choice. A DVD of the event is also available. See channel information and purchase a DVD (PDF form) of the program.

Wildcat Watch: TV programming for students debuts Sept. 8

For the busy K-State student, a newly developed television program, Wildcat Watch, will feature a weekly calendar, brief interviews, and updates on subjects of interest to students. Wildcat Watch, produced by the Educational Communications Center and a student crew, will debut on K-State TV (cable channel 8) at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 11 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, and will repeat throughout the week (see www.k-state.tv for replay information). View a new Wildcat Watch each Monday and also watch segments online.

“This new program is dedicated to informing students about upcoming events on campus,” said Tyler Traxson, co-executive producer. “In addition, Wildcat Watch will focus on events and people of the university community.”


K-State TV plans consistent block programming for fall schedule

This fall, K-State TV (cable channel 8) will offer its diverse programming in consistently scheduled block formats. Content will also be posted for online viewing. Programs are grouped by similar content and audience interest and scheduled consistently throughout the week, making it easier for viewers to identify their programs of interest.
