Nov. 10 demos of Mediasite, a classroom capture-and-streaming tool

On Tuesday, Nov. 10, a vendor will be on the K-State-Manhattan campus to demo Mediasite, a webcasting platform by Sonic Foundry that provides “automated classroom capture and streaming”.

  • Overview session — 10:30-11:30 a.m., 114 Hale Library
  • Technical session — 1-3 p.m., Union 207
  • Overview session — 3-4 p.m., Union 207

According to Mike Wilson, a Sonic Foundry representative, more than 500 educational institutions use Mediasite to quickly build their e-learning programs, increase enrollment without new classrooms, generate new revenue, and bolster recruitment and outreach.

K-State presidential finalists open forums available

The third  finalist for the presidency of Kansas State University gave an open forum presentation at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 26, in Forum Hall of the K-State Student Union. The presentation by Robert Kennedy, president of the University of Maine, was followed by a question-and-answer session and a meet-and-greet opportunity. Kennedy’s presentation was available via a live webcast, on K-State TV (channel 8), and on the K-State Salina campus via interactive Polycom provided by the ECC.

Open forums start today for K-State presidential candidates

The first of three finalists for the presidency of Kansas State University will give an open forum presentation at 3:30 p.m. today, Jan. 15, in Forum Hall of the K-State Student Union. The presentation by Kirk H. Schulz, vice president for research and economic development at Mississippi State, will be followed by a question-and-answer session and a meet-and-greet opportunity. All K-Staters and the general public are invited to attend. Schulz’s presentation will also be available via live webcast and on K-State TV Wildcat Cable (channel 8).
