K-State TV this week: Generals, lectures, and monsters

K-State TV carried live the Landon Lecture by Gen. David Petraeus Monday, AprilĀ 27, and also provided a satellite feed of the lecture to the Pentagon for distribution on its network to military installations across the country. The lecture will rebroadcast at these times:

  • 10 p.m. Monday, April 27
  • 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 29
  • 10 p.m. Friday, May 1
  • 10 a.m. Saturday, May 2

Watch “Dancing with the K-State Stars” on K-State TV

As a special presentation of the Wildcat Watch program, K-State TV produced the inaugural Union Program Council’s Dancing with the K-State Stars event and will air the program throughout the week. The program features:

  • the pre-recorded interviews that were part of the live competition
  • the performances of all 10 stars and their dance instructors
  • the newly crowned K-State Idol winner singing an original composition

U.S. digital TV (DTV) transition delayed to June 12

Feb. 17 was the original deadline for all U.S. television stations to switch their broadcasting of free TV programming from analog to digital-only. However, the U.S. Congress moved the deadline back to Friday, June 12, because millions of households have not been able to get the federally-funded coupons for purchasing digital converter boxes.

This mandatory change will affect all U.S. households that use an analog TV with an antenna to watch television and do not subscribe to cable, satellite, or other pay-TV service. Those who use cable TV or other paid TV services do not need to upgrade, nor do those who already have digital TVs. Continue reading “U.S. digital TV (DTV) transition delayed to June 12”
