“Exploring Advanced Features of Qualtrics” is scheduled 1:30–3:30 p.m. Friday, April 24, online on Zoom. All students, faculty, and staff who use this research suite are welcome to attend.
The Qualtrics tool that powers K-State Survey is one of the most sophisticated online survey and research tools on the market. At K-State, it is used for research, teaching assessment, event registration, large-scale policy compliance trainings, late TEVAL evaluations, and more. There is also an integration from Qualtrics to NVivo 12 Plus for direct access to online survey data for qualitative and mixed methods analysis.
An array of research suite features
Qualtrics offers an array of features: branching logic, piped text, email and contact list triggers, display logic, quotas, translation into dozens of languages, survey protections, offline survey (and related data) archival, scoring, and some advanced analytics. Qualtrics surveys may be delivered on mobile devices without wireless or wired connectivity. Also, surveys may be versioned for non-lingual (pre-lingual) responses.
Many of these features will be introduced during the interactive two-hour session. The first hour focuses on building surveys with special features, the second on extracting data for analysis and online data analytics (including a built-in cross-tabulation analysis, light text analytics, and “weighting” of variables into combined composite variables for analysis).
Light prior experience assumed
Attendees are assumed to have basic experience with setting up and deploying a survey in Qualtrics as well as extracting data for analysis. A quick sample presentation survey is available for those who want a sense of what the training will cover. The related handout is downloadable here.
Please note that “research with human subjects” have to go through Institutional Review Board (IRB) oversight and approval. This tool may be used for work and study-related purposes, not private commercial use. Faculty researchers have to apply for their students to have access to Qualtrics. (At the prior link, the form is “K-State Survey (Qualtrics) access for students.” This form is tenth from the top.)
Students who require access to Qualtrics need to be sponsored by a guiding faculty member, who has to submit a form to enable their access.
