K-State Online: Facebook no longer supported in Canvas

by Information Technology Services

K-StateOnline_TodayBeginning Saturday, April 4, Facebook will no longer be supported as a web service in K-State Online powered by Canvas.

Previously, users were able to Connect K-State Online with Facebook and receive notifications fromĀ Canvas. Facebook has decided to no longer support the integration that allows Facebook to work within Canvas.

Based on current usage statistics, Canvas users have not been using the Facebook integration. Instructure, our Canvas vendor, has decided against creating a new integration and instead will focus that development time on other higher priority features.

If you are interested in bringing back the Facebook integration, you can post your feedback in the Canvas Feature Discussion forums. As a Canvas user, you can vote on new features or changes being made in Canvas in the community forums.

All K-State courses need to be upgraded to K-State Online powered by Canvas by Dec. 31. To learn more about Canvas training opportunities, view the training page on the K-State Online powered by Canvas website.
